In 2024, a PE-backed construction 3D rendering software company prepared a sell process. Considering the highly technical nature of the company, its global reach and fast historical growth, the Sponsor deal team embarked on a pre-deal investigation journey with Dedale ~6 month before process start in order to develop a deeper level of conviction on the company and its underlying market, to warm up Investment Committee appetite and support, while demonstrating depth and expertise to prepare for Management Meetings. After conducting of 50 interviews of customers, non-customers, alumni and competitors, the Dedale team led by our Construction software Topic Leader delivered a synthesis that provided deep views on Market sizing and dynamics, perceived level of strengths and right-to-win for the Target company, as well as a first level of opportunity and risk assessment considering critical key questions including the impact of AI. We continuously collaborate with this team currently for all its upcoming deals

In 2024, the Chairman and Head of Strategy & Corporate Development of the Company embarked on a journey to develop a medium term inorganic growth strategy to align the Board around a set of acquisition plays and corresponding targets to go after as part of a medium growth plan. The Dedale team, lead by our Topic Leader specialized in Financial Services software, and in the targetted subsegments in particular, kicked off an investigation project to qualify M&A plays identified by the Company, leveraging existing market level as well as deal experience to come up with a prioritization of opportunities. Then, the team conducted a full target screening to identify hundreds of potential acquisition targets. Together with the Head of Strategy & Corporate Development, a funnel methodology was deploy to narrow down to a subset of ~10 top priority targets, on which deep outside-in investigation was conducted to help fuel M&A activity
